Metro Detroit Drivers Sound Off as Pothole Patrol Checks Problem Areas

From blown tires to bumpy commutes, frustrated drivers across Metro Detroit are speaking up as crews investigate the worst pothole trouble spots impacting local roads this season.

Metro Detroit drivers are voicing their frustrations as the annual battle with potholes intensifies.

From blown tires to jarring commutes, the deteriorating road conditions are taking a toll.

In response, local road crews are ramping up efforts to address the most problematic areas.

Wayne County officials have expanded work schedules to 10-hour days, six days a week, focusing on the worst-hit roads.

They urge residents to report potholes promptly to expedite repairs.

Oakland County crews are also on high alert, patrolling major corridors like Woodward Avenue to identify and fill potholes before they worsen.

In Detroit, the Department of Public Works encourages residents to use the 'Detroit Delivers' app to report road hazards, aiming to repair potholes within three days of a report, weather permitting.

Despite these efforts, the freeze-thaw cycles characteristic of Michigan winters continue to create new potholes, making it a persistent challenge.

Drivers are advised to remain vigilant, report road damage, and exercise caution to minimize vehicle damage and ensure safety during their commutes.
