What to Expect at the New Detroit 75 Kitchen in Madison Heights |
After years of serving Detroiters from their renowned food truck, brothers Mike and Ahmad Nassar have unveiled their first brick-and-mortar establishment, Detroit 75 Kitchen, in Madison Heights. The new restaurant, located at 32275 Stephenson Highway, opened its doors on Friday, February 20, marking a significant milestone for the duo.
The Nassar brothers invested approximately $1.5 million into transforming the former Madison Club Bar & Grill into a vibrant eatery that employs 25 full-time staff members. The interior boasts a retro-diner aesthetic, featuring terrazzo-style floors and tabletops embedded with recycled Faygo pop bottles—a nod to Detroit's rich cultural heritage. Memorabilia from local sporting events adorn the walls, celebrating the city's dynamic spirit. A seasonal patio is also slated to open this spring, offering additional seating options.
Ahmad Nassar emphasized their commitment to the community, stating, "Madison Heights is exactly where we want to be. We started by feeding truck drivers—people who want real food at a fair price. We're not trying to be a destination restaurant where you visit once for Instagram. We want to be the place you stop for lunch, on your way home from work, where you know the staff and they know your order. That's what a neighborhood sandwich shop should be."
The menu continues to showcase the beloved offerings that have garnered a loyal following, including the Detroit-style cheesesteak, Fisher Freeway Fish sandwich, and shawarma wraps. Notably, all menu items are 100% halal certified, reflecting the brothers' dedication to inclusivity and quality. During Lent, the restaurant features a daily seafood menu with options like catfish, haddock, and Lake Erie walleye, catering to seasonal preferences.
Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the restaurant closed on Sundays. This expansion signifies a new chapter for Detroit 75 Kitchen, solidifying its place as a cherished neighborhood sandwich shop in the heart of Madison Heights. |
