A $17 Million Venue Set to Redefine Luxury Events in Bloomfield Township |
Renowned chef and restaurateur Zack Sklar has announced the development of a new luxury event venue, Bloomfield Hollow, in Bloomfield Township.
The 30,000-square-foot facility, estimated at $17 million, is designed to host high-end events and is slated to break ground later this year.
Situated on a 30-acre forested property off Franklin Road, Bloomfield Hollow aims to preserve the natural beauty of its surroundings.
The venue will feature a glass-enclosed atrium offering expansive views of the mature forests and protected wetlands.
Sklar emphasized the importance of environmental conservation, stating, "We are keeping the native trees and cutting down the absolute bare minimum."
The architectural design wraps around the wetlands, ensuring minimal ecological disruption.
With a seating capacity of 650 and space for over 1,000 guests for strolling events, Bloomfield Hollow is poised to become Oakland County's premier large-scale event space.
The venue's design includes a sunken amphitheater and indoor/outdoor transitional spaces, catering to a variety of event types.
Notably, the structure is engineered to accommodate vehicles, making it ideal for automotive reveals and media events.
Sklar has assembled a distinguished team for this project, including New York-based designer Joel Dixon, interior designer Mel McKoy, design architect Isaac Michan, and landscape architects LandForm.
The project has passed its initial design review and is scheduled for further consideration by the Planning Commission on February 2.
Beyond its architectural allure, Bloomfield Hollow's culinary program will be spearheaded by Cutting Edge Cuisine, the catering company co-owned by Sklar and Justin Kurtz.
Known for serving high-end clients across Michigan, the duo aims to provide a large-scale space that emphasizes high-end cooking.
Sklar highlighted the venue's culinary approach, stating, "There are no hot boxes. Everything is cooked a la minute, on-site, utilizing the world’s finest ingredients."
Sklar and Kurtz, both classically trained chefs from the Culinary Institute of America, founded Cutting Edge Cuisine 20 years ago.
In addition to the catering company, Sklar owns several metro Detroit restaurants, including Social, Como’s, Beau’s Grillery, and Mex.
Bloomfield Hollow is expected to open its doors by late 2027, offering a unique blend of natural beauty, architectural elegance, and culinary excellence to the Metro Detroit area. |
